Nengi reacts as Gov Diri removes her as Face of Bayelsa, appoints First Class Law Graduate

 


Big Brother Naija former housemate, Nengi, has reacted to Governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri’s decision to replace her with Ebizi Blessing Eradiri as the Face of Bayelsa Girl Child.

Governor Diri removed the Big Brother Naija star and replaced her with Eradiri, the first female First Class graduate from the Faculty of Law at the Niger Delta University, NDU.

Eradiri also finished First Class from the Nigerian Law School.

The decision of the Governor to pick Nengi for the position had met strong criticism on social media as many believed that the double First Class Law Graduate, not only made Bayelsans proud but also the entire Izon nation.

And the Governor on Monday announced Eradiri as the New Face of Bayelsa Girl Child.

Eradiri and her father were at the Government House, Yenagoa, where the Governor also, among other things, gave her automatic employment to lecture at the NDU’s Faculty of Law.

Reacting to the development, Nengi tweeted, “Congratulations to Barr. Ebizi Eradiri. It’s amazing how you were able to pull that thru!

“Special thanks to my Governor for also finding her worthy for the honour. It is without doubt that we will both work together to see how we can front for a better welfare for the Girl child.”

Uganda election: Davido declares support for Bobi Wine against Museveni

 


Afropop sensation, David Adeleke, also known as Davido has declared support for Bobi Wine for the Uganda Presidential election.

Mr Wine who is also a musician is running against Yoweri Museveni who has been in power since 1986.

The election is slated for Jan 14.

Bobi Wine on Tuesday accused Museveni of sending soldiers to invade his home and arrest his security details.

According to reports, the country’s telecommunication regulator, Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) Executive Director Irene Sewankambo ordered telecommunication companies to suspend access to social media.

Although Davido who is a Nigerian cannot vote in Uganda, his popularity across the continent comes with some influence.

It would be recalled that Nigeria’s entertainment industry had a tense relationship with the Ugandan govt over the arrest of Omah Lay in December for violating COVID-19 laws after performing at a show in the country.

There were reports of Ugandan musicians instigating the government to arrest the Nigerian star.

However, Davido on his Twitter timeline tweeted: “I’m definitely in support of good governance! And Bobi seems like a stand-up guy! He’s been fighting for revolution for a minute! Whoever wins .. I hope it’s will of the pples ️🇺🇬.”

I almost died after my marriage ended in 2 weeks – Comedian, Princess

 


Popular Nigerian Comedian, Oluwadamilola Adekoya, also known as Princess says she almost died after her marriage crashed.

Recall that Princess got married in 2013 at Balmoral Events Centre, Oregun, Lagos to a Yoruba movie actor/producer, Jeremiah Adeshola.

However, their marriage lasted for just two weeks.

Finally speaking about her marriage, Princess on TVC said she slid into depression and almost lost her life after the marriage crashed.

She said: “I nearly died when my marriage ended in two weeks, I was down with depression.

“It happened to Funke, Tiwa Savage and they came out strong. Funke tried to talk to me but I could not come out on top like them but remained down.

“I nearly died if not for people who loved me.”

Recall Tiwa Savage’s marriage to Teebillz crashed in 2016 after the latter accused the singer of infidelity.

Popular Nollywood actor, Omogoriola becomes Oba in Yoruba land

 


Nollywood actor and movie producer, Omogoriola Hassan, has been crowned as the Oba of Uba land, Imobi Kingdom.

The actor, who was previously installed as an Oba-elect of the land, was crowned after the oracle of the land confirmed him as the chosen one.

The actor took to his official Instagram handle to share the news alongside a video capturing the moment the King makers of the land made an Ifa consultation to ascertain if he was the chosen one.

“The office of an Ọba in Yoruba land is an hereditary office that is maintained by Royal families,” he wrote.

He went on to explain, “But in order to be the one that is confirmed as an Ọba the chief priest and the town elders would perform an IFA consultation to confirm if they have the right person because many use influence and money to attain this sacred office.”
